I made my first visit to St. Peters in March 1981.
I was a junior at ECU majoring in education and looking
for a summer job. I came to Washington to meet Ed Hodges,
the camp director of Camp Leach, which was then the camp
and conference center for the Diocese of East Carolina,
and interview for a job. I spent two wonderful summers as
a counselor at Camp Leach. I finished my degree and graduate
school, married Ed, and joined St. Peters. I returned
to Camp Leach as the directors wife for its last summer.
Ed was the director of Camp Trinity when it opened in 1986,
so I spent another summer at camp.
During my 22 years as a member of St. Peters, I
have had many opportunities to serve our Lord. I have been
a Sunday School teacher, have worked with Bible School,
prepared meals for EYC, and currently help with the nursery.
I am a member of the ECW and served as the leader of the
St. Elizabeths Chapter which met at night for many
years. Most recently, I assisted with publicity for the
Carolina Fall Festival. I am a member of the Angel Food
ministry team and help with preparing meals for funerals.
In addition to my role as wife and mom to Ted, I am the
principal of Bath Elementary School. I am glad have the
opportunity to share my time and talents with my St. Peters
family.
