I have been a life-long member of Saint Peter’s. I was baptized, confirmed, married, and expect to be buried from Saint Peter’s. I have recently retired from teaching US History at Washington High School with 35 years in education. I am the husband of Pam, the outgoing Senior Warden, and father of Ted, a freshman at UNC-Chapel Hill.
Over the years, I have held a number of positions in the diocese and Saint Peter’s. After attending Camp Leach as a child and working on the staff in high school and college, I returned in the 1980s as the camp director and was the first camp director at Camp Trinity when it was opened. I met Pam when I interviewed her for a job at Camp Leach in 1981. At Saint Peter’s, I have worked with the acolytes, been an EYC advisor, worked on Every Member Canvases, organized Vacation Bible School, and taught adult Sunday school. For approximately 17 years I was responsible for Youth and Adult Christian Education at Saint Peter’s. I have served on several search committees for assistant rectors and most recently was the head of the rector search committee that brought Father Kevin to Saint Peter’s. I have served three previous terms on the vestry. This fall I assisted Father Kevin in teaching the youth confirmation class. Currently, I am enrolled in Year 1 of Education For Ministry (EFM) with several other members of Saint Peter’s.
