I am married to Carolyn Doyle Thomas and have an adult daughter, Amy, and son, Stephen. Our family moved to Washington in 1973 and soon thereafter we joined St. Peters. Amy and Stephen, were active in EYC. Amy was married in the church, and Stephen was an acolyte. I attend church and Sunday school regularly and usher at the 10:15 service. I am a member of the Christian Formation Committee. I have been involved in the dental clinics, the cleanup days, the Toys for Tots, the Lenten services, the blood drives, EYC, and musical seminars.
I received civil and structural engineering degrees from Georgia Tech and NCSU. I am now retired after working for 43 years for various chemical companies as a civil project manager. I have been involved with the Washington Planning Board, Boy Scouts of America, county water system, homeowners association: swimming competition and judging, Science Olympiad, Relay for Life, and math tutoring.
St. Peters has been an important part of my life and being a member of the vestry would give me the opportunity to return to the church some of what it has given me.
