Keith Hardt - Christian Education

I have lived in Washington with my wife, Crystal, since the summer of 1996. I am employed by the City of Washington and currently serve as their Electric Utilities Director. I have been in the electric utility industry for twenty-one years and in public service for seventeen years. Crystal works out of our home and we have one son, Gunnar, who was born in 2000.

We joined St. Peter’s in early 2001 before our son was baptized during the Easter Holy Saturday service in 2001. During the time that we have been attending St. Peter’s, Crystal and I have been involved in the adult Sunday school classes and many of the family, youth, and EYC activities. Additionally, I have been involved with many construction and maintenance projects over the past four years at St. Peter’s.

When I was approached to serve on the Vestry I initially declined, but was urged to delay my decision until the next day and give my decision some additional thought. Over the next day I talked with Crystal, thought and prayed. I determined that I can bring something meaningful and useful to our Vestry. Through my work experience, I have an extensive background in budgeting which I feel would be an asset during our next budget season. In addition, in my seventeen years in public service, I have been responsible for hiring employees in varying fields of employment. This will be helpful during our search for and transition to a new rector. I look forward to serving on St. Peter’s Vestry.
