Our family moved to Washington from Laurinburg in December 1988. We transferred our membership immediately to St. Peter’s from St. David’s, and my wife, Lourdes, and I joined the chancel choir. Our daughters, Lauren and Alexandra, grew up in this church and participated in choirs, hand bells, and as acolytes, and Lauren was married here.
I served on the Vestry from 2001 through 2003 as Junior Warden. During my tenure as Junior Warden, I learned about the physical plant, and I have been in many places in this facility that life-long parishioners never see. I was a member of the building committee for All Saints’ Hall, and I have been the commissioner of referees for Upward Basketball since its inception. I am currently one of three trustees of the Grey W. Bowers Memorial Organ Fund, and I have recently begun working with the training of our acolytes.
I appreciate and cherish the rich tradition of St. Peter’s parish, and I support our stated mission in the community. I am honored to serve on the Vestry to preserve this heritage, and I will work to welcome others to St. Peter’s to share in the joy of creating new traditions for generations yet to come.
