Cathy Whichard - Parish Life

After Roy and I married, I joined him and his family at Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church.  We have worshiped at Saint Peter’s since returning to Washington in 1973.  Our children, Susan and Taylor, were baptized and lovingly raised by this church family.  I am retired from a 32 year career as a teacher of Family and Consumer Sciences at Washington High School and since then have enjoyed brief stints of volunteer work in the school system.

Early on I was involved at Saint Peter’s in teaching children’s Sunday School, as well as Bible School.  I have also served on Altar Guild for 33 years and have been active in ECW since the days of Saint Elizabeth’s night chapter.  I am currently serving on the ECW board as the liaison for Parish Life.  As a part of the Kitchen Planning Committee, I helped design and plan the use of the All Saints’ Hall kitchen.  It has been very rewarding to be a part of preparing and serving several large group meals for the parish and as fundraising events for ECW.

            I love Saint Peter’s Church, and I enjoy worshiping and participating in the activities of the church family.
