I have been fortunate to have been a part of many of the exciting developments at Saint Peter’s since 1988, when Bill and I married and I was confirmed at Saint Peter’s. We are regular attendees of the 8 a.m. service.
As a part of the 175th celebration, I wrote “On This Rock: A History of St. Peter’s Church 1822-1997.” More recently, I chaired the cookbook committee, which produced “Keys to the Kitchen Gracefully Rekeyed.” Right now I’m busily filling boxes with gifts for the Marines—“Christmas in Afghanistan.”
I have served as president of the Episcopal Church Women from 2005-2007, on the Steering Committee for the Mission of Faith Campaign, on the Steering Committee for Stained Glass Windows Restoration, and as parish historian since 1997. I am a member of Altar Guild, on Angel Food Meals and Funeral Meals committees, an office volunteer when needed, and have been a Sunday School teacher.
My career as an English teacher spanned the period from 1961 to 2005, when I retired from Beaufort County Community College as Chairperson of the Division of Arts and Sciences.
As a member of the Vestry, I will serve to the best of my ability.
