I grew up in Tampa, Florida and attended public schools there. I spent many summers in the mountains of North Carolina and graduated from Queens College in Charlotte. I met my husband, Sam, there as he was at Davidson College. We were married in 1965, and he graduated from law school in 1968 and then served in the Army for 4 years while I taught school. After service in the Army JAG Corps, we moved to Washington, his hometown, in 1972. We have both always been Episcopalians, and my two children, Hill and Latham, were christened here at St. Peter’s. I am a retired high school librarian who has gone back to work part-time. I have taught in the classroom in middle school and high school. Twenty-three years ago, I found my niche in the library. I proudly served on the Washington City School Board for 14 years and was its chairman for 2 years.
I have been a Sunday School teacher, an ECW board member and president, an EYC sponsor, an Altar Guild member for 32 years, and a volunteer on all kinds of committees. I hope to bring my talents and experiences to the Vestry.
